How it began

Helen first encountered Himalayan singing bowls in Hong Kong in 2016 — and was struck by what a single, long-sustaining tone could do to attention, breath and the body.

Trained as a registered social worker, specialising in children, family and mental wellness, she wanted to understand why sound worked, not only that it did. That question took her to Nepal, to study the bowls within the traditions that created them.

Today she brings that knowledge to luxury maisons, hotels and global companies, and to the practitioners she trains — combining a traditional lineage, an academic grounding in psychology and social work, and a performer’s understanding of presence.

Helen works fluently in English, Cantonese and Mandarin, and travels for retreats, residencies and events.

Learning at the source

Helen trained in Kathmandu with Swami Chaitanya Krishna and Master Shree Krishna Shahi — teachers from three-generation sound healing lineages, carrying the Tibetan and Vedic singing bowl traditions. She is a Nepal Government certified singing bowl and sound therapist, and in 2021 was authorised by her teacher’s centre to teach traditional sound healing.

  1. I

    Space

A bowl sings because it is empty. In practice, that emptiness becomes space to hold what a person brings — without fixing or judging.

  2. II

    Slowness

Long, sustained tones slow attention down. Presence with one sound becomes a way of practising presence with life.

  3. III

    Weight

Hand-hammered bronze is heavy and grounded. Its low vibration gives the body something steady to land on.

Her philosophy

“Follow the flow of life with softness, and build inner strength in times of challenge.”
